Head Start involves families

Families are welcome to volunteer in the classroom. Families are involved in their child's education through parent teacher conferences, home visits, goal setting, and home school activities.

School Readiness

Head Start takes place in a school setting to prepare your child for school. Head Start classrooms have a daily routine to provide learning opportunities during large group, small group, center time, and outdoor play.  New activities are planned daily based on Teaching Strategies Gold learning objectives which align with Kentucky Teacher Standards.

About Cedar Grove Head Start

Our program provides educational activities within a school structured routine for three year olds. We prepare children to be school ready by providing them appropriate learning experiences that will enhance their development in the following areas: social emotional, physical, cognitive, language, literacy, math, social studies, and science. Children will be provided with learning experiences everyday during large and small group, center time, and outdoors. Our teachers collaborate with parents to develop goals for their child, meet the needs for the family and children, and help the child develop on their highest level. Our teachers are educated in Early Childhood and engage in professional development training yearly.
